T, K, Y- Joints course on UT

What is this course?

Tubular construction is often used as an architectural detail in office buildings and airports for the pleasing lines of the resulting structures. Often, these are not primary load-carrying structures or they have limited structural function. In the offshore industry, tubular TYK construction is commonly used as the primary load path for structures such as fixed offshore platforms. The tubular TYK construction commonly found in many offshore structures presents some of the most difficult welding and inspection issues to be found in structural steel fabrication.

Why is this course?

A certification course exclusively designed for acquiring proficiency to conduct Ultrasonic testing (UT) of critical T-K-Y weld joints during fabrication of structures and piping. The course is meant for in depth learning of special techniques suitable for directly applying to actual T-K-Y weld joints on field. NDT Level III Trainers with vast experience in inspection of specialized weld inspection applications will teach the subject. The program consists of PowerPoint presentations, in depth study about interpretation of applicable codes related to these types of joints, practical sessions, and technical discussions to quickly bring the students for easy understanding the subject.

This specialized course is presented in a manner that promotes understanding and the ability to conduct T-K-Y Joints Ultrasonic inspection. This is a course for practicing engineers to learn in depth concepts of critical weld examinations. This course covers underlying concepts of TKY weld examination of offshore structural fabrication as per API RP 2X and AWS D1.1
